YOUTH ANTI-VIOLENCE SYMPOSIUM: a Healers' Market

In honour of the fist annual National Day against Gun Violence, this one-day event aims to create a nurturing environment where young people in the Jane and Finch Community can learn, connect, and heal. Journaling, movement, and self-care workshops will focus on goal setting and discovering joy through rest and play.

Additionally, a panel discussion will provide opportunities for youth to engage in meaningful dialogue and gain insights from expert panelists with rich lived-experience.

The goal is to raise critical awareness around the causes and effects of gun violence. Through our local community-led commemorative activities, we aim to honour the collective memory of those lost to gun violence and break the generational cycle of unaddressed trauma resulting from escalating gun violence across the City of Toronto.
